The Answers You Need

FAQ: FAQ

WHAT IS MICROBLADING/POWDER BROWS/HYPERREAL BROWS?

Microblading is a manual brow tattooing method, which, by using a thin, sharp blade of needles, creates realistic, sharp strokes of color that mimic the look of natural brow hair.
Powder brows can be done manually or with a machine, for a stippled effect that looks like the brows have been fully shaded in. The two methods can be combined for a perfect brow duo.
HyperReal Brows are Siren Skin Care's proprietary method of a technique otherwise known as Machine strokes, Nano Brows, Nano Strokes, etc
This method is a machine based skill using a single need to recreate thin, hairlike strokes of pigment. This technique is ideal for those with oily skin, mature skin, and everyone else who is interested! This is by far the most popular of Siren Skin Care's PMU services.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH ONE I NEED?

We can help! Please feel free to reach out :) Also, research! Looking online at lots of different photos of either technique is very helpful. Do you like the breezy, fluffy look and space between the strokes, or do you like a clean, soft edge and have some gaps to fill? Want both? Brow Duo is for you! You can also book a consult to chat about it at www.vagaro.com/sirenskincare

IS IT SAFE?

In our spa, yes. We follow all of the proper sanitation procedures set by the health department as well as being up to date on Bloodborne Pathogen certifications and sterile procedural protocols. In addition, all blades are disposed of, gloves and protective gear are worn, and myself and my clients are protected.

WHEN WOULD TINTING BE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE?

When one has thick eyebrows, but they are just light or blonde, tinting can be great! Dark powder brows and Microblading can still by hidden be thick, light eyebrows. So when deciding whether it is right for you, keep it in mind that you either might ONLY need a tint, or if you still choose to get it done, tinting may be needed in the future to make the eyebrow as cohesive as possible.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Depending on your skin type, semi-permanent brows can last anywhere between 9-24 months. Its seems like a wide range, but just picture each woman in your group of friends and how different they (and their skin) are. There are many factors that can play a role in how the skin heals, and each case is very individual.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY BROWS POST TREATMENT?

I will give you a full aftercare sheet and aftercare ointment. In addition, brow tattoos are just that-tattoos. Pigment can fade drastically if not cared for, despite being healed under the skin. The number one thing that makes pigment fade is sun exposure, so after your treatment you will be really taking care of those babies with sunscreen! I will also be available for help.

FAQ: FAQ

DO YOU HAVE MY COLOR?

YES. Brow pigment comes in a wide range from sandy blondes to deep, rich browns and blacks. I customize each color and notate each client’s formula in their file for the future.

DO I NEED A CONSULTATION?

That is entirely up to you! If you are on the fence about it, want a preview of your shape, or just want to clearly communicate your needs, a consult can be booked at www.vagaro.com/sirenskincare under “misc”.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR SEMI-PERMANENT MAKE UP?

Most likely, yes! However, there are a few situations that can make it a little “complicated”.

THINGS TO KNOW

•Pregnancy or Breastfeeding

Altered hormonal state can increase blood flow, and risk for infection. Bloating and water retention can also result in an altered shape post treatment. Chemicals present in anesthetic creams have not been proven safe for babies.

•Accutane Use (must wait 6-12 months)

Immune system and skin structure is incredibly weakened and fragile.

•During Chemotherapy or Radiation*

Weakened immune system, heightened risk of infection. Brow treatment can be completed 7-14 days prior to therapy in order to curtail risk and heal fully.

•Diabetes- high blood sugar levels (low immune system) and low blood flow increase risk for infection.

•Botox/Dysport

If you regularly receive Botox in the brow and forehead area, its ideal to have your Microblading done when its worn off. Then, wait 3-4 weeks to get Botox, so that your physician can be sure not to alter the shape or height of your brows.

If you have recently received Botox, please be sure you are happy with the result prior to coming in for Microblading. A waiver will be signed.

•Very oily skin

•Blood Conditions/Diseases

•Blood thinning medications, including fish oil.

FAQ: Text

WHAT IS PLASMALIFT?

PlasmaLift is a non-invasive, needle free alternative to cosmetic surgery. A small, laser like pen is used to create a plasma charge (think “plasma TV” not Liquid Plasma. This is different from the vampire facial). The plasma charge turns solid to gas in one little zap and poof! That excess tissue (i.e. crepey eyelid skin) is basically evaporated! Each little zap pulls the skin tighter and tighter until loose, crepe-like skin is visibly smoother. This is an awesome alternative to surgery for both healing speed and cost-effectiveness.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

There is a list of general pricing in the service menu, but generally one will receive a discount when bundling multiple areas. Consults are suggested and can be booked at www.vagaro.com/sirenskincare

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

On the day of, you will come in and get fully numbed prior to your treatment. It’s virtually painless (I feel some heat every now and then). Usually small brown dots appear immediately and darken over the next 24hrs, taking about a week to flake off completely. You will keep the area clean and avoid any exfoliants. Then, new pink skin is exposed and lightens over the next few weeks. Makeup can be worn over top once the little dots shed. No, you don’t have to miss work. :) It takes a few weeks to see the full result but you will notice tightening immediately.
